The Horespark was fun again this year. We tried to beat ourselves and we succeeded. We placed 1st in the decorating contest and I placed 1st in the Costume contest. It was a fun time by all. Next year will be even better. Already starting to plan for next year. Enjoy the pictures below. (CLICK TO SEE MULTIPLE PICTURES)

This year my son wanted to be a Tusken Raider. So we went all out. Everythign but my bandoliers was homemade. I think we did all right. The girls were a butterfly and tinker bell. They turned out well too. In fact, maybe the misses will wear her hooker boots one night. HA!
At the Ky Horse park Campout, I placed 2nd (was beat by a store bought hulk hogan costume.), Xander was second as well (beat by an astronaut.) Unfortunatly the girls did not win at all. MeeMaw won third for her "Frankie's Girl" costume.
Here they are:
Well here it is, this is my son's costume for this year. A Tusken Raider. Everything is hand made from the mask to the bandolier. I used things like pvc pipe, cigarette boxes filled with spray foam to make them not collapse, markers, and electrical twist connectors. Stay tuned for instruction on what I used and how I created each piece. The only things left to complete are the hands and all I need for that are some glvoes that I cannot seem to find. Also we will dirty up the robes by tea dying, using pastel chalk, and some rit dye thrown on it for a "dried blood splatter" effect. Some pieces are simple like the boot while others are a little harder. Enjoy!
This year we were a few different things and there was no real theme for xander and myself. This was not by choice but because my costume (lego Darth Vader) did not turn out that well. With everything else going on I did not have the time and could not get the legs the way I wanted to so I skipped it and wore my Viking items from my SCA. Xander was a Stormtrooper. The costume was made using about $10 of craft foam. Details on how I made the costume to come soon.
This year the girls were penguins. The penguins were from Simplicity pattern # 3639. They were made in fleece and were quite warm. However they were oh so cute.
The girls were a crowd favorite at the Horse Park. Xander placed 3rd with his costume and I placed 2nd.
Meemaw and Pap were a witch and monster.
