Breaking the Chains of Love

Need some cheap safe chain for your haunt. Well make some out of pipe insulation. It is easy to do and would be good to get kids involved in to making (since it is just so darn tedious.)  Oh two points for those that can name the song reference in the title.

Materials:

• Scissors or Razor Knife.
• Glue - Unless you buy the self adhesive insulation
• Pipe Insulation - I buy the self sealing type as it is easier to work with.

Instructions:

1. The first thing that needs to be done is choose the type of insulation you want to work with. There are a couple different sizes but in general I like the 1" pipe insulation since it seems to make links that can move better and less stiff. 

 2. The second thing is to figure out if you want to use the regular pipe insulation or the kind that has the self adhesive on it. I like the self adhesive as you do not have to worry about gluing the pieces. The choice is yours.  

3. Now you will want to cut the pipe insulation cross ways to form little rings. I generally cut them to about 1/2" or so but the size if totally up to you, but they shoudl be less than the diameter of the pipe insulation opening 9in my case that is 1".)

4. Finally you will want to put the links together. Simply link them together it is THAT easy.
